Aerial images have revealed the scale of a major fire in an east Suffolk village.

A derelict building close to the A1152 in Rendlesham caught light just before 4pm on Friday.

A total of 11 engines from Ipswich East, Woodbridge, Framlingham, Orford, Aldeburgh, Leiston, Saxmundham, Beccles and Haverhill fire stations attended the scene.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service urged locals to keep their doors and windows closed to protect them against the smoke as crews battled the blaze.

The scale of the damage has now been captured in a series of aerial images.

The building's roof has charred and collapsed and several fire engines can be seen parked in a neighbouring field.

The cause of the fire currently remains unknown and it is not known if anyone was injured.
