One of Suffolk's most beautiful pubs will host TWO free concerts this August Bank Holiday weekend, as well as the Ufford car rally and a bit of welly wanging.
The White Lion in Ufford plans to open its four day August Beer Festival at noon on Friday with a large selection of real ales, with BBQ for sale.
Later, at 8pm, local music legends the Biscuit Brothers will perform in the pub's new garden marquee.
They will be followed at 7.15pm on Saturday night by the jazz quartet Moondance.
Both concerts are free and there is parking in the large pub field.
Pub manager Andy Jarrett said the free concerts were to thank its loyal regulars and those who travel from afar.
Andy, 33, said: "We want people to come and enjoy themselves and have a little dance to two really good local groups.
"We enjoy fantastic support throughout the year from Ufford and others who drive to sample a real village pub.
"The music is to give a little back and we aim to provide the best ever White Lion Beer Festival."
The Sunday lineup takes a more traditional turn with the East Anglian game of dwile flonking.
It involves two teams dancing around each other with one trying to dodge a beer soaked dwile.
There will also be a tug of war, diddly cart racing and welly boot throwing - known as welly wanging.
The four-day festival culminates on Monday with the famous bi-annual Ufford Car Rally.
Now in its 20th year, the get-together of car, motorcycle and van enthusiasts takes over the field behind the pub.
Previous attractions include everything from a tiny 1933 Austin Seven 'Nippy' to a 1926 Rolls-Royce 20.
The special BBQ menu will include Crayfish cocktail and the Uffa burger at £8.50.
Ales are from a selection of breweries, including Woodfordes, Lacons, Nethergate, Mauldens, Green Jack and Adnams.
Pub owner Stephen Thurlow said: "We are hoping the sun shines, but if it doesn't, we have a magnificent marquee."
Since the beginning of the summer holidays, the White Lion has been open seven days a week.
Post-pandemic, the 17th century inn had been closed for three days a week and was only open from Thursday night to early Sunday evening.
