Two bodies recovered from a yacht that sank off the coast of Sicily are feared to be those of Suffolk tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his teenage daughter.
On Wednesday afternoon, specialist divers recovered two bodies inside the Bayesian luxury boat after finding them behind mattresses.
Two further bodies were then located inside the vessel as body bags were spotted being brought to the shore.
Efforts to bring a fifth to the shore have been described as "ongoing".
According to The Telegraph, the first two bodies recovered from the wreckage of the sunken Bayesian were those of Dr Lynch, who lived at Loudham Hall near Wickham Market, and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah.
Speaking to the national newspaper, Sicily civil protection chief Salvo Cocina said: "On behalf of myself and my colleagues, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims and express our condolences to them at this difficult time.”
The wreckage of the Bayesian is resting on the seabed at a depth of 50m.
Twenty-two passengers and crew were on board the yacht when it began to sink while 15 people, including Dr Lynch's wife Angela Bacares, were rescued after escaping on a lifeboat.
The boat trip was believed to be in celebration of Dr Lynch's recent acquittal in a US fraud case relating to the sale of his firm Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard.
Among those also reported to be missing from the sinking of the Bayesian were Morgan Stanley International bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer; his wife, Judy Bloomer; Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo; and his wife, Neda Morvillo.
A team of four British inspectors from the Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) arrived in Porticello, close to where the Bayesian sank, on Wednesday to look at the site.
The MAIB is looking into what happened because the yacht was flying a British flag, it is understood.
