Suffolk could be hit with a heatwave at the end of August according to the weather forecast.

The county could experience high temperatures heading into September as the forecast predicts highs of 27C.

Flood warnings have also been issued for Suffolk for the next five days.

The rest of the week is expected to be clear and dry until Friday, when Suffolk will see some patchy areas of rain.

From Sunday, August 25, temperatures begin to pick up, hitting 25C until the beginning of September where they creep into 27C.

The Met Office says a heatwave is when temperatures hit or exceed the region's threshold for three consecutive days - in Suffolk, that threshold is 27C.

The hot weather is expected to continue into the beginning of September, with light showers likely in between.
