A photograph has been released of an Ipswich man who was found dead at an address in Felixstowe.

An investigation is ongoing into the death of Charlie Stephen David Greaves.

Police were called by ambulance services to an incident at the seafront promenade by Undercliff Road West in Felixstowe at about 9.20pm on Saturday to a report of an assault.

A police spokesman said Mr Greaves would have been seen with his dog, a brown and white Staffordshire bull terrier and boxer crossbreed.

Officers were then called again at 10.30am on Sunday to a property in Carr Road where a man in his 20s, who had been injured in the assault, was found dead.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, police have now identified Charlie Greaves, 25, from Ipswich as the man who died.

A 28-year-old man from Felixstowe was arrested by officers on Monday, August 12, on suspicion of murder.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and bailed to return to police on October 7.

Officers continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed an altercation or who has any information about the man’s death to contact police.

This includes anyone with CCTV or a video doorbell between Ranelagh Road and Undercliff Road West, or that may have been driving in the area between 8.30pm and 9.20pm that may have a dash camera.
