A dachshund dog has died and a woman injured after being attacked by two other dogs on a beach.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident on Tuesday, August 13 at Sizewell Hall at around 8am.
The woman in her 20s was walking her dog along the beach when it was attacked by two Staffordshire bull terrier-type dogs.
The woman had attempted to separate the dogs and required treatment for her injuries.
The dachshund died following the incident.
Inspector Liz Casey said: “Officers are investigating the incident and working with partners to ensure dogs are controlled appropriately in the area and that all that use the beach and surrounding area are safe.
“Once the investigation is concluded we will assess all and any appropriate measures in regards to the animals involved and their owners.
“Please be aware it is your responsibility to ensure your dog is controlled and that it does not endanger the safety of any others.”
