Plans to repair the front of a town's building society that was damaged during a ram raid last year have been approved by a council.
The Nationwide branch at 49 High Street Newmarket was damaged following a ram raid incident on December 4, 2023.
Proposals were submitted to West Suffolk Council in May for the replacement and repair of the front of the property.
A statement to the council said works would include the entire façade being reinstated with replicated tiles and finishes where possible, the retention and repair of the existing timber fascia and reinstating the external ATM with a 'free cash withdrawals' sign.
Plans also included rebuilding a damaged section of wall, reinstating a door and frame and re-varnishing woodwork inside and outside.
The statement read: "The intention is to reinstate and restore the damaged shop front to its previous condition and appearance prior to the ram raid."
The plans were given the green light by West Suffolk Council last week.
The applicant now has three years to begin work at the site.
