A man has been arrested in a mid Suffolk town after he reportedly approached two young girls and left them distressed and in fear.
Police were called to the Combs Ford roundabout near Gipping Way in Stowmarket at about 5.15pm on Tuesday, August 6 to reports of a man approaching two young school-aged children.

A spokesman for Suffolk police said the man reportedly approached the children, started gesturing at them and also made inappropriate comments.
The young children then left the man and approached another adult who was able to help.

The children were deeply distressed by the incident and police are describing it as a suspected accosting.
After the incident, officers pursued the man into a river path and arrested him.

He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Station for questioning and later bailed to return to police on September 23.
Police say an investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact them, quoting crime reference number 37/44362/24.
