A series of lane closures have been planned for a busy road after a water main burst last month.

An emergency road closure was put in place on the A1120 in Stowmarket on July 23 following the incident.

The road was closed from the junction with B1113 Needham Road to Cedars Park roundabout.

Lane closures will be in place across two phases while drainage investigations take place.

A single northbound lane will be in place between the Tesco roundabout and the Cedars Link Interchange from Monday, August 19 until Wednesday, August 21.

The second phase will have both inside lanes closed while the teams work close to the central reservation of the carriageway on Thursday, August 22 and Friday, August 23.

A spokesman for Suffolk Highways said: "During our time on site, the vegetation and debris will be cleared to allow the survey teams access to assess the drainage systems.

"Once the investigations have been completed, we will review the results and decide the next steps to repair the drainage system."
