An iconic 1960s band are appearing in Felixstowe in September on their new tour, ready to get you dancing "Down On The Beach".
American pop and soul group, The Drifters, are coming to Felixstowe's Spa Pavilion for one night only on Friday, September 6 at 8pm.
The popular 1960s group were induced into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, The Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame in 2018 and were ranked number 81 by Rolling Stone Magazine in their 100 greatest artists of all time list.
The revived and fresh tour promises classics such as, ‘Saturday Night at the Movies’, ‘You’re More Than A Number,’ ‘Come on Over to My Place’, ‘Up On The Roof,’ ‘Under the Boardwalk’, ‘Kissin In The Back Row’, ‘Save The Last Dance For Me’, ‘Down On The Beach,’ ‘Hello Happiness’ and many more favourites.
Tina Treadwell, daughter of George Treadwell who created The Drifters in 1953, now continues the legacy of the Drifters' name.
She said: “I am very excited that following our 65th anniversary year we have a new show for the fans who we invite to join us in celebrating this incredible and everlasting story of The Drifters.”
