Britain's poshest train is returning to Suffolk next month for an unforgettable afternoon tea experience. 

The Northern Belle, once part of the Orient Express group, transports passengers back to the golden age of rail travel with 1930s-style Pullman carriages.

The train begins its trip in Norwich before stopping in the Suffolk town to pick up more passengers on its twice-yearly luxury journeys.

Arriving in Ipswich at 1.25pm, the vintage locomotive will take guests south while enjoying a luxury champagne afternoon tea.

A separate "Spirit of Travel Lunch" will also be available, treating guests to a seven-course lunch with a caviar reception. 

Later this year people will be able to get into the Christmas spirit when a luxury train takes passengers from Suffolk to the award-winning Christmas market in Chester. 

The journey will begin in Colchester before making its way to Ipswich for 7.20am on Friday, December 13.

Passengers will then continue their journey to Bury St Edmunds before heading to Peterborough. 

From Peterborough, a steam locomotive takes over for the journey to Chester Christmas market. 

Tickets for the Northern Belle afternoon tea start at £295 per person and can be booked on their website.
