Suffolk's only island is getting ready to host its annual adventure event, run by an RSPB group.
The RSPB Woodbridge Local Group is preparing for the annual Havergate Adventure event running from Saturday, August 24 to Monday, August 26.
The event takes visitors on a 20-minute boat journey from Orford Quay to Havergate Island, taking people to explore the lagoons, salt marshes and wildlife that live there.
Once ashore, visitors will be guided by a RSPB volunteer guide to help them spot birds, animals and insects living on the island - including the avocet featured in the RSPB logo.
At the end of the tour, homemade cakes, snacks and refreshments are available before heading back on the boat to Orford.
RSPB Woodbridge Local Group leader Paul Hetherington said: “Havergate Island is alive with wildlife and during August, it becomes home to hundreds of wading birds including avocets and spoonbills which is a real sight to see.
"As well as the birds there’s also butterflies and insects and animals that also love island life – there’s so much to see and discover, it really is an unforgettable outing for the whole family.”
Guided tours leave very hour from 9.30am until 1.30pm on Orford Quay.
Tickets are £15 for adults and £5 for under 16s.
