Fire crews from all over the county, as well as police officers, were called to the blaze at the former Delphi site in Newton Road at about 5.10pm on Tuesday, May 28.
The following day a police spokesperson confirmed a teenage boy had been arrested on suspicion of arson.
The spokesman said he was arrested after reports of suspected criminal damage to a former industrial unit.
He was taken to Martlesham police station for questioning and bailed to return to police on July 6.
On July 6, a Suffolk Police spokesperson confirmed the teenager had been re-bailed until July 27.
On July 27 the teen was re-bailed for a second time, to return on August 25 at 7pm.
The fire at the former Delphi factory site spread to about 100m by 100m of the building, according to a spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at the time.
A police cordon was put in place while emergency services worked at the scene.
