Police say they are investigating into an attempted murder after a woman was found with serious head injuries in a south Suffolk village.
Officers and an ambulance were called to Rectory Lane in Brantham, on the Suffolk-Essex border, at 8am on Wednesday to reports of an unconscious woman with a serious head injury.
Officers say the woman, in her 50s, had been walking her dog next to the sewage works and railway line before she sustained the injuries.
A spokesman has now confirmed that a police cordon is at the scene and officers are investigating the incident as attempted murder.
Officers are asking anyone with information in relation to the case to contact them, quoting crime reference number 37/41580/24.
