A major IT outage is causing serious disruption at the Port of Felixstowe.
Overnight, Microsoft 365 said it was investigating an issue impacting users’ ability to access apps and services.
A spokesman for the Port of Felixstowe confirmed that the issue is causing problems.
According to truckers, drivers cannot currently gain access to the port.
In a post on X, Microsoft said: “Our services are still seeing continuous improvements while we continue to take mitigation actions.
“We still expect that users will continue to see gradual relief as we continue to mitigate the issue.”
London Stansted Airport said that some airline check-in services are being done manually as a result of the IT outage, but “flights are still operating as normal”.
A spokesman said: “Some retail payment machine services have been impacted, and some airline check-in services reverted to being done manually, but our main operational systems are unaffected and flights are still operating as normal.”
The problem is also affecting Ryanair flight at the airport.
Ryanair is warning passengers they may face delays due to an ongoing global IT outage.
The airline said in a statement: “We’re currently experiencing disruption across the network due to a global third-party IT outage which is out of our control.
“We advise all passengers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled departure time.
"We regret any inconvenience caused to passengers by this third-party IT issue, which is outside of Ryanair’s control and affects all airlines operating across the network.”
More to follow.
