An annual classic car show switched up a gear at the weekend as it recorded its busiest event ever.
The annual Rotary Classic Car Show, the tenth of its kind, was held on Sunday, July 14 at Culford School near Bury St Edmunds and welcomed more than 6,000 visitors.
Organised by the Bury Abbey Rotary Club, with support from other rotary clubs, there were more than 40 car clubs and 600 cars displayed to enthusiasts.
These included Morgans, Jensens, Mustangs and other individual exhibitors.
Food from a wide range of vendors, including Japanese cuisine and hog roasts, as well as local craft stalls, was also available to visitors.
Peter Summers, the lead organiser, said: “This has been our busiest show ever with blue skies and sunshine all day for the first time in weeks.
"We are pleased to have raised more than £35,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices and the many other local charities supported by Bury Abbey Rotary Club.
"Special thanks to Culford School and all our 120-plus volunteers, from the US Air Force and organisations across the region.
"The successful coordination and input of so many people is a major task, but gives a great deal of satisfaction to myself and the show team."
In the last 10 years the car show has raised over £130,000 for a variety of charities, with East Anglia’s Children's Hospices as the headline charity.
EACH supports children and families with therapy and care to ensure the best quality of life for them, with three hospices in the region.
