A lightning strike caused serious damage to the roof of a west Suffolk home.
Firefighters were called to a home in Jermyn Avenue in Bury St Edmunds at about 9.50pm on Monday.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said on arrival firefighters found the house filled with smoke.
The lightning strike cause serious damage to the roof of the home and has also affected the structure of the property.
Nobody was in the house at the time of the lightning strike, the spokesman confirmed.
