A 34-year-old died after she was hit by a car crossing a road in Marbella, a coroners' court has heard.

An inquest concluded into the death of Emily Auchincloss who was killed on September 16 last year while in Marbella for a friend's wedding.

She had been attending a friend’s wedding with other family members and was hit by the vehicle on the way back to her accommodation.

The court heard that Spanish newspapers have said the 34-year-old was on a pedestrian crossing when she was struck by the car.

Spanish media have also reported the light was showing red for pedestrians and that the motor vehicle had the right of way as the traffic signal was green.

The 34-year-old was born in Bury St Edmunds but was residing in Gloucestershire at the time of her death.

Senior coroner for Suffolk Nigel Parsley concluded that Ms Auchencloss died of her injuries as a result of a road traffic accident.

The inquest concluded on July 12, having been opened on February 9.
