Isn’t it great, the England men’s team have reached a football final for the first time in another country, by beating the Netherlands earlier this week.
One more step tomorrow in Berlin will see them emulate the achievements of the Lionesses by winning the Euro’s. Brilliant.
Like many people I didn’t think we’d get where we are as the football hasn’t been great to watch, but somehow Gareth and his team have done it and at this stage that’s all that matters.
I bet some of those fans and pundits who said he was useless are eating humble pie right now.
It’s not over till the fat lady sings. Hang on, is that saying allowed these days? Oh well, too late now.
It’s going to be a tough ask to beat Spain, but we certainly have the players capable of doing it, let’s just hope they turn up tomorrow.
It’s been a pretty lacklustre tournament but finally thanks to that last minute goal from Oli Watkins it’s come alive, for us anyway.
I don’t think many people other than the English will be wishing us well. Certainly not the Scots and judging by our Eurovision results not much of the rest of Europe either.
Let’s hope for once we can have the last laugh.
I’m sure the pubs and fan zones will be rubbing their hands together as I suspect copious amounts of alcohol will be consumed.
It’ll be good news for our supermarkets too as the rotten summer so far has hit takings.
I think a fair few back gardens BBQ’s will be lit tomorrow, a beer and a burnt banger is so English.
I do feel sorry for anybody that’s got a function on tomorrow, I wonder what the attendances will be like!
I heard from one bride on the radio who’s getting married tomorrow that she’d brought the first dance forward by half an hour and then they’d got in a big screen to show the match.
Well, what do they say, “if you can’t beat em, join em”.
What a welcome boost this is for all of us. For a few hours it’ll take our minds off a rubbish summer, spiralling water bills to pay to stop raw sewage being pumped into our rivers, something the water companies should have been sorting out for decades instead of paying loads of our money to fat cat bosses and shareholders.
It’ll stop us thinking about our prisons being full to bursting, how has this been allowed to happen?
Hopefully if you’re struggling to find an NHS dentist a few drinks tomorrow night will numb the pain.
The new Labour government has got an awful lot to sort out. One thing the Prime Minister Sir Kier Starmer could do if we win is give us all a bank holiday day off to celebrate, now that would be nice but maybe not do it for the Scots!
So come on England, make the nation proud and bring that trophy back home. Let’s all roar them on tomorrow night!
