A 21-year-old entrepreneur is to open her first hair and beauty salon, having been cutting hair since the age of 14.

Keira Blunderfield and her mother, Becky Delf, will open the doors to All Dolled Up in Station Road West, in Stowmarket, on Monday.

The unveiling marks a dream come true for Keira, who first started working in a salon as a teenager.

"I pretty much always wanted to be a hairdresser," said Ms Blunderfield.

"When I was 14 there was a salon right next to my house and they were looking for a Saturday girl."

After leaving school aged 16, she went on to complete her apprenticeship before at 19 joining a salon. She then went self-employed within six months.

The business will also achieve an ambition for the family, with her father having also played a part by helping to fit out the salon.

Ms Blunderfield said: "It has always been one of those things, we have always said we would want to do it together one day.

"When the opportunity came up, originally I did want to do it on my own.

"When we found the building we're going into, I approached them and said 'I'm going to need a bit of help with it'. Straight away my mum said 'it would be silly not for me to help you.'"

The family venture will see Ms Blunderfield control the hairdressing side of the business, while her mother will run the beauty operation.

Ms Blunderfield added: "I can put all my time and effort into it now. It's a dream come true.

"Now it has all come together now, I am just buzzing now to get in there. I can't wait."

She added the Stowmarket community has offered "so much support", including from people she doesn't know, on social media ahead of the salon's opening day.
