The winners of the EADT Business Awards 2024 have been announced and Morgan Sindall Construction, which has offices across the country, has been named winner of the Employer of the Year award, sponsored by Waddington Brown.

Morgan Sindall Construction is a leading nationwide construction company with a network of local offices, including one in Ipswich.

It provides a range of services across public and private sectors – from special works and repair and maintenance to major landmark schemes.

The company combines the most up-to-date construction methods and innovative carbon reduction tools with digital design capabilities to create unique and sustainable buildings in contexts as diverse as commercial and retail, defence, healthcare, industrial, residential and leisure.

Morgan Sindall Construction has a stated mission to create inspiring places that enhance the communities it operates within.

In the past 12 months, the firm has delivered £2 billion of social value. Recent projects in Suffolk include Stowmarket Fire and Police Station and Newmarket Hospital Community Diagnostic Centre.

The judges said that Morgan Sindall Construction “clearly demonstrates a strong focus on employee engagement” and recognises that “talented people are integral to its success”.

The way in which the company supports every part of each employee’s professional journey was celebrated by the judges, who praised the wide range of staff engagement and wellbeing activities. They added that the company should be “very proud of its training and development initiatives for Suffolk students, helping to build the local talent pipeline for the future”.

Alister Broadberry, area director for Morgan Sindall Construction East, said winning the award is “an incredible recognition for Morgan Sindall Construction”.

“We continuously strive to attract, develop, support, engage, and retain the best talent in our industry.

“We really do care for our employees and to be recognised as the best in Suffolk, among such a deserving group of finalists, is a testament to our commitment and truly validates our efforts.”
