Condé Nast Traveller has shared its list of best places to holiday in the UK and one "quaint destination" is closer to home than you might think.
As well as Cornwall, Bath and The New Forest, two places in Suffolk have been named as the best places to holiday in the UK.
Suffolk, more specifically Aldeburgh and Southwold, ranked 7th in the list of 22.
Praised for their "curiously uncrowded, artsy-smart" feel, both towns have a look about them that "it could still be the fifties".
Aldeburgh is home to one of the best fish and chip shops in the UK, a short walk from the beach.
one of the best UK holidays for entertainment.
Southwold has also been mentioned previously asCondé Nast Traveller says Astondene, Southwold is the best place to stay in Suffolk, "dig some holes, collect pebbles in a bucket, walk up and down the pier and brave a toe in the water".
The "cosy, beam-heavy old inn buildings" and "£1M rental holiday homes" in Southwold and Aldeburgh allow you to pretend you live there, just for a little while.
