A business involved in some major developments across Suffolk has officially moved its head office to the county.
Property developer Jaynic has moved into a 550sq ft third floor office space at The EpiCentre in Haverhill - a property it developed some years ago and still owns.
Jaynic has been involved in a number of big commercial property developments across Suffolk - including Suffolk Park which is home to firms including Treatt, Greene King, Bleckmann, Skechers, Weerts Group, MH Star UK Ltd, Unipart, Sealey and British Sugar.
It is also the developer behind Gateway 14 - home to The Range - which is owned by Mid Suffolk District Council.
The garden and homewares retailer's new mega warehouse measures a staggering 1.17 million sq ft facility and will employ a total of around 1650 people.
Owner and managing director Nic Rumsey welcomed the move. Jaynic previously ran a regional office in Skyliner Way at Suffolk Park, Bury St Edmunds, while its official head office was in Ascot, Berkshire.
"It feels like we are coming home," he said.
"Haverhill features large in our history. We created Haverhill Business Park bringing Percy Dalton, Terence Barker, HID, Culina, Buildbase and Stagecoach to the town.
"In addition, we built, owned and operated the Days Inn Hotel before letting it to Travelodge. We subsequently created Haverhill Research Park, facilitating The Flying Shuttle pub and building the Colourbox Montessori nursery."
Jaynic worked closely with West Suffolk Council and the Greater Cambridge Local Enterprise Partnership, to build the EpiCentre on a speculative basis.
It is now managed by Oxford Innovation Space - but opened just five days before the Covid lockdown making for a tough start.
The Haverhill centre offers a range of flexible spaces, offices and laboratories in a shared environment or private. The package includes business support.
Jaynic’s team of 10 has now moved in. Its office and marketing manager Nicola Barber said: “We are very much looking forward to being part of it and getting to know the other companies in the building."
The innovation centre - run by centre manager Andrew Bell - has 30 business occupants covering a broad range of sectors including, health-tech and life sciences, health and care support, gaming and software development.
“We welcome Jaynic to The EpiCentre and am sure they will benefit from the extensive facilities and networking events that are such an important part of the centre’s offer to its businesses,” said Andrew.
