Two Suffolk restaurants are celebrating after they were named among the best in the UK.
Retreat East in Hemingstone and The Suffolk Sur-Mer in Aldeburgh have been included in a list compiled by luxury travel magazine Conde Nast as the best restaurants with rooms.
Conde Nast said the past decade has seen the "evolution" of Britain's inns and now a stay in the countryside is is a sensitively seasoned experience as chefs serve up locally rooted feasts attached to cutting-edge sleepovers.
Retreat East was named the most romantic getaway spot by The Times in 2022 and launched a collection of shepherd huts in 2023, making it a popular destination for those looking for a high-end escape into the Suffolk countryside.
Denise van Outen recently enjoyed a stay at Retreat East, joining a plethora of stars that have holidayed at the luxury retreat including singer Jessie Ware and TV personality Millie Mackintosh.
Despite only opening two years ago The Suffolk Sur-Mer is no stranger to national recognition.
Most recently it was named among the best restaurants in the UK by Time Out magazine.
Last year the restaurant also achieved acclaim when Observer food reviewer Jay Rayner visited the restaurant and said: "My dinner took me to a whole bunch of very happy places."
