A man has been jailed after he was caught carrying a 15-inch blade through a west Suffolk town.
Police were called just before 6.50pm on Friday, March 29 following reports that a man was walking along the High Street in Haverhill in possession of a knife.
Officers found 50-year-old Alan Mizon inside a pub in Market Hill where he was searched and found to be carrying a 15-inch blade.
He was arrested and taken to Bury St Edmunds police station for questioning and was charged with possession of a knife.

Mizon, of Landseer Court in Haverhill, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on Thursday, June 12 and pleaded guilty to possession of a knife in a public place.
It followed a previous court appearance where he admitted to stalking and assaulting his ex wife.
He was sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment and was given a further 12 week imprisonment for breach of a molestation order, to be served consecutively.
Mizon was also ordered to pay compensation of £500.
