A fish and chip shop is set to be restored to the site of a long-running and popular chippy that closed down after the owners retired.
The site of the former Orwell Fish Bar, in Orwell Road, Felixstowe - which had been in business for at least 40 years - will once again be occupied by a similar diner after the premises was sold through estate agents Diamond Mills.
Charlie Papworth, head of residential and commercial at Diamond Mills, said the property had a guide price of £300,000, but could not reveal how much it had sold for.

He said: "It has been sold and it is going to continue as a fish and chip bar and restaurant.
"It is a lovely, established old business, so it is nice to know that it is being returned as a fish and chip business."
In May, this newspaper reported how the restaurant had closed, with a notice attached to the door explaining the decision.
The notice read: "It is with regret we announce the closure of Orwell Fisheries with immediate effect.

"We will both be retiring due to family commitments."
Mr Papworth said: "Commercial property in Felixstowe is very popular because it is a real thriving town now and it really is getting a lot of traction and interest because we don't see shops empty for long.
"There is a real appetite for businesses here."
Posters on social media site Facebook paid tribute to the former owners of the Orwell Fish Bar after they announced their retirement.
One said: "Thank you for the years you have been open without fail.
"This chip shop is a childhood memory that my late dad always took us to as a treat. Happy retirement."
