A west Suffolk bakery has been crowned one of the best places in the world for baked goods.

The guide La Liste has published the top bakeries and pastry makers across the globe with more than 3,000 including representing the best on offer.

Just under 200 of the chosen bakeries are based in the UK and Time Out magazine said the receivers of the award represent the "crème de le crème of British baking".

Wooster's Bakery, based in Bardwell and Bury St Edmunds, was named among the best bakeries in the world.

The bakery was set up in 1992 selling baked goods and sweet treats from Bardwell Windmill

Will Wooster took over in 2015 and expanded to open a second location in Bury St Edmunds a few years later.

The Pastry Award win from La Liste is not the first accolade achieved by the Suffolk-based bakery.

Last year The Times named it as one of the best bakeries in the UK and celebrity chef Nigella Lawson said the business made the best malt loaf.

Speaking at the time, Mr Wooster said: "It's totally special. I've never really sought out these awards."
