Brighter and warmer weather appear to be on the horizon after an underwhelming start to summer in Suffolk.

Rain and colder temperatures have lingered in the region over the past few weeks, as the summer months have started with a damp squib.

The last few weeks in June have been wet, with several days of rainfall so far in the month.

However, hot and sunny weather finally appears to be here, according to the latest forecasts.

Temperatures are set to hit highs over 23C in some parts of the county over the weekend, and that could increase heading into next week.

Met Office forecasts show highs of 24C in parts of west Suffolk, with temperatures slightly cooler on the coast.
