A driver was arrested in a Suffolk town on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs after stopping his car in the middle of the road blocking traffic.

The driver was arrested by police in Framlingham yesterday evening, after he had stopped in the middle of a road and blocked traffic.

As officers approached the driver they quickly identified that he appeared under the influence of drugs.

The driver was immediately arrested for driving whilst unfit through drugs.

Police say drug and drink driving is one of the four 'fatal four' offences which frequently lead to fatal collisions on the road. 

The other three offences are not wearing a seatbelt, speeding and using a handheld mobile phone.
