A west Suffolk pub that has been closed for five years has been put on the market. 

The Greyhound in Bury St Edmunds closed in the town in 2019 before it was sold to a new owner by Greene King last year. 

Plans to convert the pub in Eastgate Street into two homes were submitted to West Suffolk Council in August last year but were rejected. 

The Greyhound is on the market with estate agent Everard Cole and is available to let.

The main ground floor trade area is split into the main bar area at the front of the building and games room to the rear.

The landlord is in the process of a full ground floor restoration including a new bar servery and will be retaining the first floor to offer as letting accommodation. 

Everard Cole has said the landlord is open to discussion about joint business opportunities in conjunction with the pubs and rooms.

A commercial lease is available for £35,000 per annum with a three month deposit required in advance.
