A photographer has managed to capture a stunning picture of the Milky Way above a much-loved Suffolk beach.
Jon Allard, who is a keen astronomical photographer, captured the phenomenon above Southwold beach on Saturday.
Mr Allard has taken a number of pictures of the Milky Way over Suffolk including Aldeburgh.
The best time of year to see the Milky Way is between March and May. It can also be seen in the summer months but it is not as common.
To see more stars it is recommended to stargaze in areas of low light pollution in darker areas away from the bright lights of towns.
Suffolk has some great places to go stargazing thanks to the clear skies and seemingly never-ending views.
As well as Southwold and Aldeburgh, other popular locations include Westleton Common, Covehithe and Dunwich.
