Drivers will be left facing a 27-mile diversion while a road that connects a village to a town centre is closed.
Bures Road in Great Cornard near Sudbury will be closed near to the Head Lane roundabout between 10am and 3pm on Monday.
According to the Suffolk County Council website the diversion route for the emergency road closure is 27 miles long.
The diversion route includes A roads because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.

While the road is closed Suffolk Highways will be carrying out emergency works in the area.
A stretch of the road was closed earlier this year.
Bures Road was closed near the Kings Head pub while Cadent carried out urgent work.
