A coroner has opened an inquest into the death of a woman from west Suffolk who was reported missing on New Year’s Eve.
The body of Erin Hunnisett, 38, was found by search teams in an area north of Brandon Road in Mildenhall shortly after 12pm on January 3, Suffolk Coroners' Court in Ipswich heard on Friday.
Officers treated the death as unexplained but not suspicious, a Suffolk police spokesman said.
Coroner Darren Stewart OBE said the proceedings will be completed by way of written inquest on a date yet to be established.
Suffolk police issued an appeal to the public for CCTV images on January 2 after Ms Hunnisett had been missing for several days.
After further extensive searches and with help from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue, a body was found on the afternoon of January 3.
The body was later identified by police as Ms Hunnisett, pending formal inquest proceedings.
