A new coffee van that can travel anywhere across the region has launched in Suffolk.

Jacob Bathgate returned to the county with his fiancée Belinda after graduating from university in 2019.

As a child he would go on family walks through rural Suffolk areas and would always wish for a place to stop and have a tea or coffee.

The idea of opening a mobile coffee van grew as he gained experience working at Paddy & Scott's and First Coffee Shop in Clopton.

In December of last year, Mr Bathgate decided to purchase a Piaggio Pronto coffee van from a café in Romford and set up Sutton Brew, which started serving in April.

"The van is so small that you would not believe there's a full coffee shop in the back of it," Mr Bathgate said.

"It is so small it makes everywhere accessible and I can work completely off grid for nearly eight hours. The whole county is at my fingertips."

Sutton Brew currently serves a full range of coffees, teas and cold drinks at Melton Playing Fields on Sundays but from Saturday, June 1 will be expanding to serve on Saturdays too.

Speciality drinks include London Fog which is Earl Grey tea topped with textured milk like a latte.

The coffee van can also be hired for private events such as birthday parties and weddings.

Speaking about the future, Mr Bathgate said he was excited for plans in the months and years ahead.

He said: "I would love nothing more than for Sutton Brew to become a place you see across the whole of East Anglia."

"You can count on me being everywhere in the rural areas across the county. The region will learn soon that I am here to stay."
