Planning permission is being sought for final works to merge two Grade II-listed houses in a north Suffolk town.

A retrospective application has been submitted to Mid Suffolk District Council for internal works completed in 2016 including the removal of stud walls for the property in Church Street, Eye.

Approval is also being sought to future works to remove one of the now redundant staircases.

As two separate houses, each home had a living room and kitchen on the ground floor, and two bedrooms upstairs.

Since the next-door properties were merged, a larger home with four bedrooms and two living areas has been formed.

Nothing will change on the exterior of the building, with the retrospective and future plans focused on internal remodelling.

The houses date from the early 18th century, according to planning documents submitted to Mid Suffolk council.

A consultation on the proposal for Church Street in Eye closes on June 18.
