Drivers are set to face a 24-mile diversion while a road connecting two villages is closed.
Windmill Hill between Long Melford and Glemsford will be closed from 9.30am and 4pm on Sunday.
While the road is closed, UK Power Networks will be carrying out urgent works in the area.
According to the Suffolk County Council website the official diversion route is 24 miles long.

The diversion route includes A roads because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.
People living down Windmill Hill will still be able to access their homes.
Last year the stretch of road was described as "one of the worst" for potholes in the area.
Suffolk county councillor Richard Kemp, who covers Long Melford and Glemsford, described the road as "the worst" in all the areas he covers.
Suffolk Highways did later carry out repairs on the road.
