A town council has been rocked by six resignations in one week.
Four councillors, the clerk and responsible finance officer all gave their notices to Needham Market Town Council with immediate effect last week.
Brian Annis, Josephine Lea, Steve Phillips, and Xy Stansfield all resigned, along with town clerk Kevin Hunter and responsible finance officer Louise Mills.
Terry Lawrence, chair of Needham Market Town Council, said: “I write to announce that from the early part of this week, commencing 19th May, Needham Market Town Council has received resignations or retirement notices, with immediate effect, from four councillors, the Clerk and the Responsible Finance Officer.
"The remaining councillors are working with SALC to maintain the council and move forwards.
“No further statements will be issued until sensitive issues are concluded."
It is not know what the "sensitive issues" are.
The departing councillors have extensive experience in local politics.
Councillor Annis has served the community for nearly 50 years, Councillor Lea served as town clerk then town councillor from 1990, Councillor Phillips has been a local representative for 25 years, and Councillor Stansfield has been a councillor for a decade.
