The inquest for a man who died following a police search in Thurston has been opened.
On Friday, the inquest for Martin Canter was opened at Suffolk Coroners’ Court in Ipswich.
Mr Canter, 62, died on November 10 last year. Two days before his death, Mr Canter’s family had reported him missing.
A search was carried out by Suffolk Police and Lowland Search and Rescue (SULSAR) and a helicopter was also used as part of efforts to find him.
The court heard that Mr Canter was discovered in a woodland area in Thurston late on November 9. He was taken to the West Suffolk Hospital, where he died.
An inquest has been opened and adjourned for further work to be completed, and is expected to take place on July 30.
