A person stranded in the water has been saved by a coastguard helicopter after a three-hour emergency rescue mission.
Four fire crews, three from Princes Street and one from Aldeburgh, were called at 4.35pm on Thursday to Church Lane by the River Alde in Iken, near Aldeburgh.
Suffolk fire crews were liaising with a team from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and the Coastguard to support in the rescue.
It was reported that a paddle boarder was stuck in "muggy" water and that the area was a "tricky" location to gain access to.
It has been confirmed that the helicopter landed and was able to pull the person out of the water.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service declared the incident as under control at about 7.40pm.
Injuries are unknown.
