A 20-year-old Bury St Edmunds man who ran drug lines supplying heroin, cocaine and cannabis in the town has been locked up for 28 months.
Ali Arslan was a “line holder” for three separate drug lines between June last year and February this year which sent out bulk advertising texts to drug users, Ipswich Crown Court heard on Thursday.
He was stopped and searched by police in Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds, after he appeared to be “spooked”, the court was told.
After his arrest drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, were found by officers in a safe in the garden of a nearby house.
Arslan, of Brockesby Walk in the west Suffolk town, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine, heroin and cannabis and possessing criminal property relating to £900 cash found in his possession.
He was given 28 months' detention in a young offenders institution when he was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court.
Benedict Peers, for Arslan, said his client had been asked by his drug suppliers to supply drugs to earn money and he had "stupidly" agreed.
He said Arslan was told to go to a house in Ashwell Road in Bury St Edmunds where the drugs were stored in a safe in the garden.
Mr Peers said Arslan was also told what to say when advertising drugs for sale and had given the money he received from the sale of the drugs to the people he was working for.
Mr Peers said Arslan, who has no previous convictions, was paid £90 a day and had spent the money on drugs, food and treating his girlfriend.
