Framlingham is gearing up for three days of colour, music and family fun over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend when the town’s GalaFest takes place
The fun begins on Saturday, May 25 and continues until Bank Holiday Monday, with loads of events for all the family.
It all starts at 11am on Saturday, May 25, with a duathlon and then from noon until the evening there’s live music at Framlingham Sports Club.
Headliners include Man In The Hat and ABBA Inferno. There’s also food, drink, trade stands and bar. Wristbands cost £8 and will be available at the clubhouse. Free for under 15s.
On Sunday, May 26, there will be a craft fair from 10am-5pm at the Castle Community Rooms, and music at Framlingham Sports Club from noon. Entry is free.
On Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, the fun is on Castle Meadow, next to Framlingham Castle.
At 12.30pm, the GalaFest Parade makes its way through the town, ending at Castle Meadow. This year’s theme is Magical and Mystery, with this year’s Gala Stars, Lainey, Viviana and Dolly-Rose taking pride of place.
At 1.30pm, children’s races will start an afternoon of fun including dog agility, Woodbridge School of Dance, tradestands, food, drink and Stocks fun fair, which will be there all weekend. The craft fair also continues on Monday.
Funds will be used to keep this 100-year-old traditional event running in future years.
