A long-established, family-run firm is marking another major milestone.
Internationally recognised company Harrod UK Ltd - the leading manufacturer in sports equipment and provider of premium garden products - is celebrating 70 years in business.
Back in 1954 Ron Harrod his wife Margaret started Lowestoft-based Harrod UK Ltd with a £300 investment as old herring nets were converted into garden netting, using skills traditionally associated with the town’s fishing industry.
Today, seven decades of innovation, quality, and service excellence later, the firm continues to shine on the world stage.
Since its establishment in 1954 the company - based at Pinbush Road, Lowestoft - has continually set industry standards and demonstrated unwavering commitment to its customers and employees.
Under the Harrod Sport banner, the company has become synonymous with cutting-edge sports equipment.
In recent years, Harrod Sport has catered for a range of prestigious events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euros, Rugby World Cups and the Commonwealth Games.
Harrod Horticultural has earned acclaim for its premium garden structures, plant supports and garden accessories - serving gardening enthusiasts, professionals and institutions with unmatched quality and expertise.
Reflecting on the remarkable milestone, Chris Harrod, CEO at Harrod UK, said: "As we celebrate our 70th year anniversary, we take immense pride in the journey of both Harrod Sport and Harrod Horticultural.
"These divisions have not only thrived independently but have also complemented each other, reflecting our commitment to excellence and innovation in every aspect of our business."
Stephanie Harrod, managing director at Harrod UK, added: "Our success over the past seven decades is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team members, as well as the enduring support of our valued customers.
"As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our roots of UK manufacturing, designing and selling of high-quality products across both our sports and horticultural divisions."
In celebration of its 70th anniversary, Harrod UK Ltd will host a series of events - from special promotions to community engagement activities throughout the year - to thank its loyal customers and employees.
