A 16-year-old boy has been charged with rape following an incident.
The teenager was arrested in Thurston in the early hours of Monday, May 6.
It follows an incident which reportedly took place in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday, May 5.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said: "He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and subsequently charged with the rape of a girl under the age of 13."
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Suffolk Magistrates' Court in Ipswich on Tuesday last week.
He has been remanded in secured accommodation to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, June 21.
The victim is receiving specialist support from police and partners.
