The Good Food Guide is one of the industry's leading guides detailing some of the best restaurants in the UK.
Speaking about Hendo's Fish and Chips, the guide said: "Sometimes only fish and chips will do and if the urge hits while you're in Bury St Edmunds, this is the place to go.
"They fry seven days a week, serving the perkiest cod, haddock or plaice licked with rapeseed oil batter and a generous pile of triple-cooked chips.
"The fishcakes deserve a special mention - just the right ration of well-seasoned filling to coating - so too the moreish battered halloumi and homemade tartare sauce."
