A paedophile with an "entrenched sexual interest" in children and a man who held a pillow over his partner's face during an argument were among those jailed in Suffolk this week.
Michael Sweeney
Michael Sweeney has been for five years and four months for sexually assaulting a child and downloading thousands of indecent images and videos of children.
Sweeney, 51, of Stowmarket Road in Great Blakenham, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.
Police went to his home in 2022 after his employers were informed that he accessed material relating to indecent of children.
The court heard that officers found 800 indecent images of children and 922 movies in the most serious level A category on the devices seized.
There were also 17,999 images in the least serious level C category.
Philip Farr, representing Sweeney, accepted his client had an "entrenched sexual interest in children".
Klodjan Kovaci
Klodjan Kovaci has been jailed for more than four years for drug offences.
Kovaci, 23, of Long Riding in Basildon, Essex, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on Wednesday in connection with drug dealing offences in Suffolk.
He pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, three counts of possession of cocaine with intent to supply and two counts of possession of criminal property.
Kovaci was sentenced to four and a half years behind bars, of which he will serve half.
Patryk Ruszel
Twenty-one-year-old Patryk Ruszel has been jailed for 28 months after he was found with 600 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin.
Ruszel, of Finchley Road in London, was in Broomhill Park in October last year when he was approached by police.
He admitted to officers he was in possession of class A drugs, and they found 258 wraps of heroin and 365 wraps of crack cocaine during a search.
Bartosz Kobierski
Bartosz Kobierski has been sentenced to 12 months jail after pleading guilty to intentional strangulation and two offences of assault by beating.
Kobierski, 42 and of Norwich Road in Ipswich, threatened his former partner during an argument.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that he threatened her with a wooden bed slat and smothered her by putting his hand over her nose and mouth.
He also told the woman to "shut up" when she screamed and held a pillow over her face.
