A man has celebrated his 70th birthday by fundraising with a 70-mile walk in seven days.
Felixstowe resident Richard Northrop rang in his 70th birthday by completing a the walk raising more than £1,400 for the Felixstowe Community First Responders.
Undertaking a 10-mile journey from Felixstowe Ferry to Landguard Fort and back daily from April 11 to 17, the feat gathered substantial support for the local life-saving group.
Felixstowe Community First Responders are volunteer locals trained to attend to certain emergency 999 calls, often offering basic life support or stabilisation before the arrival of the ambulance crew.
They were the chosen charity of the year for the Felixstowe group of Suffolk community choir, Pop Chorus, of which Mr Northrop is an active member.
Accompanied by fellow choir members and some Responders, he completed the final stretch at Winkles Café.
Mr Northrop said: "Thanks to all the supportive walkers who kindly joined me at various points along the route every day.
"Reaching over £1,400 was far beyond my wildest dreams!"
Donations continue to be welcomed online.
