Drivers are set to face a 70-mile diversion route while part of the A12 is closed for five nights in east Suffolk.
A section of the major route between Blythburgh and Darsham, near Southwold, will be closed overnight between Monday and Saturday.
The road will be closed from 8pm until 5am.
According to the Suffolk County Council website, the official diversion route is 70 miles long.
While the road is closed, Suffolk Highways will be carrying out urgent works in the area.
The diversion route is so long as it takes drivers along A roads.
This is because some vehicles like HGVs cannot go down smaller roads that others would use as shortcuts.
The diversion route will take drivers along the A1120, A140, A143, A145, A12 and vice versa.
