A large fire broke out near Stowmarket last night requiring eleven fire crews to tackle the blaze, with work still ongoing.
The fire broke out in a field in Dagworth Lane in Haughley at 10pm on Monday after 8,000 to 9,000 tonnes of straw caught light.
Fire crews tackled the fire throughout the night and four crews still remain on scene.
A spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said that the crews are likely to be there for the majority of today as they make sure the fire dampens down.
Suffolk Fire is asking for people to avoid the area and for people in the local vicinity to keep their doors and windows shut in order to keep out the large amounts of smoke being produced.
It confirmed that no livestock or people had been affected by the fire.
