An inquest into the death of a boy from Felixstowe will take place in July.
Regan Smith was 11 when he died on January 31 in King’s College Hospital in London.
An inquest, which will seek to determine just how Regan came by his death, is due to take place from July 22 to July 24.
The opening of this inquest took place on Friday at Suffolk Coroners’ Court in Ipswich.
Those gathered in court heard that Regan had been taken to Ipswich Hospital on January 26 after collapsing at home.
The hearing heard it was the third time that week that he had gone to A&E.
The court heard that a blood glucose test was not carried out on his initial two visits, meaning that a "correct diagnosis had not been reached".
On his third visit, Regan was transported to Ipswich Hospital by ambulance. From there, he was transported to Addenbrookes Hospital and then to King’s College Hospital.
However, despite the best efforts of those who cared for him, Regan passed away on January 31.
The inquest will resume in July.
