A traditional farm shop will open its doors for the first time in a west Suffolk village this weekend following months of renovation.
Seed Farm Shop at Rectory Farm on Isleham Road in Worlington, near Mildenhall, will welcome its first customers on Saturday, April 6.
The project is the brain-child of Frank Summers and his mother Lucie, who hope the new shop will help diversify the family-run farm business.
Mr Summers said of Seed Farm Shop: "It is a traditional farm shop really, with all of the things you would expect like local fruit and vegetables and meats.
"We want to be as local as possible, but also while serving people's changing shopping habits.
"That's why we've got a really substantial frozen section, but then also things like our meat and our butchery items like pork pies that we get locally from a butcher less than three miles from the shop."
The plan for the shop was announced earlier this year and work began renovating the outbuilding at Rectory Farm.
Back in February, Mr Summers said: "The building used to house turkeys but was turned into an office a few years ago.
"This is the biggest project the farm has undertaken so far," he added.
After months of work, the shop is almost finished and ready to open from 8am to 5pm on Saturday.
"We're excited for it, we're looking forward to it really," said Mr Summers.
"I think the people are looking forward to it too - a lot of the comments have been that there's not really much in the area and around Mildenhall that is like it."
Brands that will be sold at Seed Farm Shop include confectionary from The Norfolk Sweet Kitchen, Stokes Sauces from Rendlesham as well as gins and beers from Long Melford's Nethergate Brewery.
